The Lounge: Furnished with a corner unit and 2 wingback chairs for relaxed evenings in front of the television or just chatting. The smart television has full, local cable access (DSTV) and is also enabled for Netflix. Enjoy some books and games kept in the tv cabinet.

The lounge has a beautiful view of the garden and is adjoined to the sunny conservatory / patio.

Electricity Outages

What is in place to manage at home?

Less Loadshedding Interruptions

An Inverter: There is an inverter that switches on automatically as the electricity goes off – there is no need to switch anything on etc. This inverter keeps the uncapped Wi-Fi running, the television as well as the lamp, next to the tv, in the lounge. The inverter can keep these devices on for 3-4 hours.

Battery Back-up Light Bulbs: All the lamps and many of the lights, throughout the house, are fitted with battery back-up, LED light bulbs. This means you have light when power outages take place. When power resumes please turn the lights on for 1 hour to recharge the bulbs.

One-plate Gas Stove: In the kitchen pantry cupboard you will find a mini, portable, one-plate gas stove, in a protective case. This allows you to boil a kettle - also found in the kitchen cupboard - or cook a one pot meal.

Security

The townhouse comes with excellent security ensuring peace of mind when at home or away.

Tight Security

For security purposes, there is an external camera on the property, outside the front door, facing the gate to the townhouse. This camera will be on during your stay. There are no cameras nor recording devices inside the townhouse in any “living area”.

The townhouse is in a secure sectional title complex. The Home Owners Association as well as insurance require a copy of a identity document for guests who stay on the property.

  • There is an armed response company that patrols the streets of Strathavon and is there to assist for any number of reasons
  • All sliding doors are fitted with slam-lock gates, which means door can be left open on the hotter days to have a through draft
  • All windows have burglar bars and again this means windows can be left open for fresh air, with no security worries
The Patio, Garden & Parking Spaces

You’ll love relaxing on the beautiful, sunny, private patio and in the garden while taking full advantage of the stunning Johannesburg weather.

Peace & Tranquillity

The Patio & Garden: The covered patio with glass bi-fold doors and comfortable furniture means you can sit outside, enjoying the Gauteng weather and relax in the intimate, private garden.

The garden is maintained by the resident gardener, Andrew. He does have keys to the gate off the pathway into the front courtyard, and the side gate, which leads to the private garden. He requires these keys to access the garden to ensure it is watered and cared for.

In colder or rainy weather, the bi-fold glass doors can be closed, and on warm, sunny days they can be fully opened allowing for the feeling of sitting in the garden.

The table and chairs, on a wooden deck allow you to enjoy alfresco dining and there is a small barbeque grill for outdoor cooking.

Parking: There is on-site, free and secure parking in a single lock-up garage and under a single covered car port.

Weather: The weather in the Gauteng province is outstanding, with comfortable day time temperatures virtually throughout the year.

Summer is the rainy season, with thunderstorms rather than days of rain - sometimes spectacular electrical storms. The summer evenings can be cool, so have a light jacket or top for sitting outside. Remember to pack sunblock and an umbrella or raincoat.

Early winter mornings and nights can be cold, so warm clothing, pj's, slippers and jackets are necessary.
Some Important House Rules:
  • Camera: For security purposes, there is an external camera on the property, outside the front door, facing the gate to the townhouse. This camera will be on 24/7. There are no cameras nor recording devices inside the townhouse in any “living area”.

Transportation & Getting Around

Gautrain: Airport To Sandton: The Gautrain Sandton station is approximately 1.5 kms from the townhouse, and the high-speed Gautrain is the perfect way to travel between OR Tambo International Airport and Sandton. The commute time is 14 minutes, and it is exceptionally safe, clean and reliable.

E-hailing Services - Uber / Bolt: As Sandton is both a residental and busines hub combined, e-hailing cabs/taxis are always easy to access and no more than a few minutes away. From a security perspective, always ensure that the details on the e-hailing booking match the vehicle that arrives.

Car Rental: There are a number of car rental companies, either at the airport or based in Sandton, offering a variety of cars for hire, from sporty hatchbacks to luxury sedans and elegant SUV's. A rented car will have you out and about on the vibrant streets of Johannesburg in a flash.

Shesha Tuks - Something Different: The latest addition to Joburg’s transport network is the enterprising fleets of tuk-tuks based outside the Sandton City Mall, on West Street . While chugging up steep hills on the back of a glorified motorcycle may not suit everyone, they do make travelling between suburbs fun. Shesha Tuks operates within a 5km radius, which can get you to places like Sandton City Mall, Rosebank Mall and nearby suburbs. Best to agree a price beforehand.

BZ Shuttle Services | Randburg: BZ Shuttle Services offers Gauteng based guests door-to-door, safe , comfortable and convenient transport services. Transporting you, and your group, between No. 2 Four Seasons and OR Tambo International Airport is no problem. They offer early morning or late night collection and drop off. During your stay you can make a reservation with BZ Shuttle Services to transport you to various places in and around Johannesburg and surrounds e.g. Soweto, Pilanesberg. Sit back and relax while Barend or Zinta, the owners and drivers, manage the traffic and the best route to get you to your destination safely.
